Program Objectives.
Promote the 4 C’s by Coding Across the Curriculum
Heather will conduct week-long “Coding the Curriculum” workshops with 25 fifth grade classrooms across NH, engaging students in critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. Students will research, design, and create a mobile app based on their current topic of study. |
Inspire Girls to Engage in Computer Science
Heather will develop and distribute materials for schools to host a “Confident Coders” recess or after-school club. This curriculum can be used regardless of device availability, and while the content is geared toward girls, it is appropriate for any child in grades 3 - 5. |
Model Purposeful Technology Integration by Providing Professional Development
Heather will offer professional development to NH elementary teachers who want to learn how to integrate coding & other technology into their curriculum. She will meet with teachers at their schools and will present at various conferences throughout the year. |
